Age 36 (at time of photo) ( I just turned 40…fuck!)

How long do you expect to live to be?
I have no idea how long I’ll live.  But I often wonder how and when my death will happen.  I hope I am able to have a good death.

What is something that gives you real joy in life?
Traveling is one of my favorite things.  Being out in the world, in a new land, with just a back pack, riding a train in some obscure country, having that out-there feeling.

What do you like most about yourself?
I really like my sparkling wit and sense of humor….not.

Have you ever known anyone who died of AIDS?
I haven’t really know anyone personally whose died of AIDS.  (But once when I was driving a taxi in San Francisco I did drive a young guy to the airport who had gotten it there and was heading home broken-hearted).

Have you ever known anyone who has died at a young age?
I’ve know people who died young, but they weren’t close friends of mine.

What would you like to see people do to make the world a better place?
I’d like to see more of the politicians and corporation leaders and other people with power in the world act compassionately and philanthropically instead out of greed and desire for power.  I also wish people would stop driving Hummers.

What is a favorite memory?
I once rode a bicycle over three thousand miles through Europe. That was one of my very favorite things I’ve ever done.  It was a five month trip and it cost me very little because I slept in a tent in the countryside most of the time. It was great.
